Kamakura Festival, April's 2nd to 3rd Sunday

Mainly at the Tsurugaoka Hatimangu shrine with dances and a samurai parade. Culminating in yabusame, a horsemen archery contest.

Shunki Reitaisai (Grand Festival of Spring), Nikko [May 17-18]

At the Nikko Toshogu shrine, culminating in a march of 1,000 men in samurai armor.

Shuki Taisai Grand Autumn Festival [October 17]

At the Nikko Toshogu shrine, including marching clergy and samurais dressed up.

Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu (Feudal Lord's Procession in Hakone) [November 3]

The pompous celebration recreates 17th century reality when the Daimyo Gyoretsu (a feudal lord's procession) moved along the Tokaido route in Hakone-Yumoto.
